MyGuestList enlisted CDI Global to negotiate sale to Mr Yum

Melbourne, Australia – CDI Global, an international M&A advisory firm, is pleased to announce the successful divestment of MyGuestList (MGL) to Mr Yum.

CDI Global provided strategic advice to MGL since 2018. Early in the preparatory phases, CDI Global partnered with and supported the business to engage in and understand the UK and European markets. This assisted the business with market entry tactics, as well as identifying potential investor requirements on a global basis.

In late 2021 CDIANZ developed a divestment plan and information memorandum, and worked to identify and engage with potential acquirers for MGL on a global basis.

MGL’s Chairman (Matthew Bottrell) states we choose to work with CDI due to their global network, specific knowledge in the Technology sector, their ability to control a process and most importantly their ability to partner with us. CDIANZ worked closely with the MGL Board and the management team throughout the entire process. We would be pleased to work with CDI again, and we have no hesitation in recommending CDI’s services.

MGL is a hospitality industry third party data aggregation platform. It provides data management and analytics services and manages customer communication campaigns. It operates in Australia, New Zealand, UK, Europe and Japan.

As part of a global search process, CDI Global identified Mr Yum whose software platform offers QR code-based menus to restaurants, cafes and pubs. Mr Yum operates in Australia, UK and USA and the business has raised significant external capital, including a recent Series A $US65 million round led by Tiger Global, AirTree Ventures and Scott Farquhar and Kim Jackson’s Skip Capital.

CDI ANZ Partner Chris O’Connor “We could not be more pleased about our role in the transaction. It was great working with MGL and their team for the sale to Mr Yum. It was a perfect fit, where combining of the two companies results in Mr Yum being able to start offering the opportunity for venues to enhance and monetise the data which they have around customers. – such as if they like fresh wines – and send individual promotions to them offering good deals on days the restaurant is typically quiet. This would be automated, meaning restaurants of all sizes could operate more intelligently without having to employ marketing specialists. The market standing, goodwill and professionalism of MGL and Mr Yum is a positive sign of the future success of the transaction.

CDI Global specializes in finding the right opportunities for cross-border mergers and acquisitions, using their international offices that integrate their network to provide on location expertise and support.
