Rainer Häggblom

Experience & Qualifications

Rainer has 40 years of experience in M&A advisory and strategic consulting services in the forestry and forest industry cluster. 

Rainer is the founder and chairman of Häggblom & Partners (H&P), which is an associate member of CDI Global. H&P has a partnership company in USA chaired by Henri Häggblom. In addition, H&P is the majority owner of Vision Hunters, a forest industry asset management company. In addition, H&P is a part owner of several forest asset management companies with AUM exceeding 2 billion USD.

Rainer holds M.Sc. (Business Administration) from Aalto University (Helsinki) and M.Sc. (Forestry) also from Aalto University. Rainer has worked in different positions in UPM, Finnpap, Central Association of Finnish Forest industries and had a long career Jaakko Pöyry Group. He was member of the Executive Committee of The Group, held several positions and was chairman and CEO of Jaakko Pöyry Consulting before establishing his own advisory and asset management business. 

Rainer’s engagements in forest industry advisory have included some of the largest mergers within the industry worldwide. His experience in acquisitions and divestitures covers all business areas of forest and bio-industries; forest, sawmilling, panelboards, pulp, paper, packaging, tissue and hygiene etc. 

In addition, he has participated in strategic assignments for forest industry companies worldwide. He is a regular speaker in international forestry and forest industry companies. 

When he is not working, you will find him on skis on the Alpine or Nordic slopes.
